Women’s Golf Finishes 11th at Polar Bear Invitational

LIMA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in 11th place at the Polar Bear Invitational co-hosted by Bluffton University and Ohio Northern University at the Colonial Golfers Club and Hidden Creek Golf Club.

BW was 11 of 16 teams with 772 strokes on the par 72 and 5,615-yard Colonial Golfers and par 72 and 5,602 yard Hidden Creek layouts.  Ohio Northern was the champion with 644 strokes

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference golfer Brooke Newsome (Clyde) fired rounds of a career-best 82 and 83 for a two-round total of 165
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) carded rounds of a career-best 92 and 96 for a two-round total of 188
  • Sophomore Alana Smith (Fremont/Ross) shot rounds of 92 and 98 for a two-day total of 190
  • Sophomore Marissa Moriconi (Magnolia/Sandy Valley) posted rounds of 114 and 115 for a two-day total of 229.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 when they travel to Stow and Hudson, Ohio to compete in the John Carroll University Spring Invitational at the Fox Den Golf Course and The Country Club of Hudson.
