Women’s Golf Places Third at Rain Shortened John Carroll Spring Invitational

STOW, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in third place at the rain shortened John Carroll University Spring Invitational at Fox Den Golf Course

BW was of third teams of three teams with 375 strokes on the par-71 and 5,575-yard Fox Den layout.  The University of Mount Union was the champion with 334 strokes.

  • Sophomore Alana Smith (Fremont/Ross) finished in seventh as she fired a round of 85
  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference golfer Brooke Newsome (Clyde) was 14th as she carded a round of 90
  • Sophomore Marissa Moriconi (Magnolia/Sandy Valley) posted a career-best round of 98.
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) had a round of 104

The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season portion of their schedule on Friday and Saturday, April 20 when they travel to Ottawa, Ohio to compete in the Defiance University Spring Invitational at Moose Landing Country Club.
