B-W Sophomore Sarah Baker Named OAC Pitcher of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore pitcher Sarah Baker (Mentor/Lake Catholic) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time in her career.

Baker started five games and pitched once in relief as the Yellow Jackets posted a 5-3 overall record and a 2-0 OAC mark.

Baker logged 37 innings pitched and compiled a 5-1 record with five complete games. In her 37 IP, she allowed eight earned runs (1.51 ERA) and 10 walks while striking out 20 batters. Overall, she played in all eight B-W games and added two runs batted-in and four runs scored as an outfielder and designated player.

For the season, she is 10-3 overall with a 1.77 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched.

The Yellow Jackets, 12-7 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, are back in action this Thursday, April 8 at Ursuline College at 3:30 p.m. B-W also plays at OAC and cross-town rival John Carroll University on Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m.
