BEREA, Ohio – Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time Academic All-OAC runner Brian Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and the Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with Division III Academic honors.

To receive this honor, a team must maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher while an individual must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.

"This is a great award to receive for our team and for Brian," said first-year head coach Joe Eby.  "This is a goal we set at the beginning of every season.  I think it shows the level of dedication our student-athletes show in the classroom and out on the course."

The Yellow Jackets had a team GPA of 3.15.

Brennan, who earned his second Academic All-OAC honor this fall, carries a 3.91 GPA in an accounting and finance. He finished third at the OAC Championships and was 15th at the Great Lakes Regional Championships.  Brennan missed qualifying for the national meet by just two runners. He ran a career-best time of 24:52.21 at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College
