Kim of Men's Volleyball Wins MCVL Defensive Player of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball sophomore libero Aiden Kim (Bothell, Wash./North Creek) has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Defensive Player of the Week.

Kim, who earns his second weekly honor in his career, led the Yellow Jacket defense over Buffalo State (N.Y.) University and Eastern Mennonite (Va.) University at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational this past weekend to help the men's volleyball squad start the 2024 season 2-0. 

In BW's 3-1 season-opening victory over Buffalo State, Kim posted a match-high 13 digs through all four sets. He then added 14 more digs and an assist in the Yellow Jackets' 3-1 win over Eastern Mennonite giving Kim an average of 13.5 digs per match and 2.13 digs per set on the weekend.

In his career, Kim has tallied 278 digs, 51 assists, and averages 2.57 digs per set over 31 matches and 108 sets.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, January 27 as they travel to Erie, Pa. for non-conference matchups again Penn State University Behrend at 11 a.m. and St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College at 1 p.m. in the Junker Center.
