Men's Outdoor Track and Field Places First at Marv Frye Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

BW placed first out of 11 participating teams with 152 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Freshman Andrew Piehler (Medina) won the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:48.47
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:56.25
  • Freshman All-OAC sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) placed second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.50
  • Junior Nick Young (Wadsworth) finished third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.51

Field events highlights:

  • Junior All-American high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a mark of 2.09 meters
  • Sophomore All-OAC triple jumper Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) won the triple jump with a distance of 13.55 meters
  • Junior Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) won the discus throw with a distance of 45.37 meters
  • Junior Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) won the hammer throw with a distance of 51.25 meters

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 relay squad, NoethYoung, freshman All-OAC distance runner Dillon Hach (Medina) and sophomore All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished second in a time of 3:22.67

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 12 for the Tiffin Track Carnival hosted by Heidelberg University and Tiffin University.
