Weingart Garners First Career OAC Men’s Tennis Player Weekly Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore men's tennis player Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Weingart earns his first weekly honor after going undefeated on the week at both fourth singles and second doubles to lead BW (11-3) to a pair a 7-2 non-conference victory over Penn State Behrend College last Friday and a 9-0 non-conference victory over Westminster (Pa.) College on Saturday.

Against Penn State Behrend, he won his singles match by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.  Weingart teamed up with sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) for an 8-1 victory in doubles play.

In the Westminster match, he won his singles match by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.  Weingart and Harders claimed an 8-1 victory at doubles.

This season, he has a record of 9-2 record in singles action and a mark of 13-5 in doubles play.

For his career, Weingart has a record of 19-7 in singles action and a mark of 22-10 in doubles play.

Off the court, he is an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete and a Dean's List student.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, April 10 when they travel to Ada for an OAC match against Ohio Northern University on the West Campus Courts at 3:30 p.m.
