Men’s Tennis Drops OAC Match to John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team fell to John Carroll University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 8-1 inside the Short Family Tennis Center.

BW (13-6, 2-3 OAC) won one singles matches.   John Carroll (8-8, 4-1 OAC) won three doubles and five singles matches.

Doubles

  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) fell at first doubles by a score of 8-4
  • Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) fell at second doubles by a score of 8-6
  • Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) and junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) fell at third doubles by a score of 8-6

Singles

  • McGee fell at first singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Horvath won at second singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
  • Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) fell at third singles by identical scores of 6-2
  • Weingart fell at fourth singles by scores of 4-6, 6-4 and 10-8
  • Harders fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-3
  • Junior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) fell at sixth singles by identical scores of 6-2

The Yellow Jackets conclude the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday, April 27 when they host an OAC match against Capital University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 11:30 a.m.
