BW Men's Golf Team Stands Ninth After the First Day at Clarion (Pa.)

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team currently sits ninth of 15 teams after carding a team total of 317 after day one of the Clarion University Invitational at Clarion Oaks Golf Club in Clarion, Pennsylvania on the par-72 and 7,085-yard layout.


Sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) carded a first round two-over-par round of 74 to the Yellow Jackets.  In addition to Spalding, senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and ESPN Academic All-District IV student-athlete Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) shot 80 and was follwed by junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) with an 81, freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) with an 82 and senior All-OAC player Matt Weiss (Concord/Mentor) with an 85.

The Yellow Jacket men return to action today for day two of action at the Clarion Invitational in Clarion (Pa.) with tee time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. Following its trip to Clarion, BW next plays this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18-19 at the annual OAC Invite, hosted by John Carroll University at the Fowlers Mills G.C. in Chesterland, Ohio.
