Select Members of BW Track and Field Teams Compete at Gregory Meet
NAPERVILLE, Illinois – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the annual North Central (Ull.) College Gregory Invitational/ NCAA Division III "Last Chance" Meet at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

This was the last of three "last chance" meets for the Yellow Jackets to improve on their NCAA marks or to qualify for the NCAA National Meet.

For the women, junior three-time Division III All-American Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way as she won a pair of events, set two school-records and bettered her national standing in two events.  She won the long jump with a BW school-record leap of 19-feet and five and one-quarter inches (19'5.25") and the high jump with a leap of 5'6.5". Winters also placed second in the 200-meter dash in a school-record 24.71 seconds.

Winters
' leap in the lomg jump broke her own mark from earlier this season and ranks third-best in Division III. Her timing in the 200 meters broke the mark of 24.75 seconds set by All-American Benita Thomas in 1990 and ranks 15th-best in Division III.

In addition, junior All-American thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/ Kenston) placed third in the discus with a throw of 137'9" and sophomore Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/ Western Reserve) was fourth at 132'8".
