Four Women's Swimming and Diving Student-Athletes Named Academic All-OAC

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Senior All-OAC stroker Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y./South), junior All-OAC stroker Erika Nockengost (Cuyahoga Falls), junior All-OAC stroker/diver Ellie Clymer (Independence) and sophomore All-OAC stroker Marissa Kural (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) are four of the 23 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this winter.

Krupp, who earns her third career Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy and exercise science double major who carries a 3.77 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Krupp also received the 2016-17 BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the team. In the pool, she earned her All-OAC honor as a freshman in the 400-yard individual medley and she also holds the school record in the event.

Nockengost, who garners her first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a music education major who carries a 3.60 GPA. A Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar, she is a two-time OAC champion in the 100-yard butterfly and owns an additional three All-OAC honors. Nockengost is also a member of the school-record 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relay teams.

Clymer, who is named to her second consecutive Academic All-OAC team, is a biology major who carries a 3.71 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. In the pool, Clymer earned her All-OAC accolade as a sophomore with a second-place finish in the 1-meter, 11-dive event. 

Kural, who earns her first career Academic All-OAC honor, is a public & nonprofit management and Spanish double major who carries a 3.88 GPA. A Dean's List student, she is a two-time All-OAC performer and a member of the school-record 800-yard freestyle relay team.
