ACADEMIC MAJOR:  Chemistry

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Jimmy Sandlin is competing in his first season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University and hopes to earn his first varsity letter. Jimmy transferred to BW after spending the 2014-2015 school year at Linestone (S.C.) College.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2015-2016, Jimmy competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. He battled for mat time at 174 pounds and was the backup for senior Div. III All-American Garrett Chase '16. Jimmy compiled a 22-8 record with five pins, two technical falls, a team-leading 77 takedowns, 25 escapes, four reversals and 56 total near falls. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW also was 31st of 53 teams at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Jimmy grew up in Carlisle, Ohio and graduated from Carlisle High School.

Jimmy wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters. He also competed four years in track and earned four letters, earned one letter in cross country and competed in football for one year. 

Jimmy placed second at the 2014 OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) State Tournament and third in 2013. Jimmy also was a National High School Coaches Association (NSWCA) All-American. Statistically, he holds the Carlisle H.S. record for most wins in a career with 174. 

Jimmy was also a member of the National Honor Society.
