BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Grant Rathburn is competing in his second season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. He hopes to earn his second varsity letter.

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2014-2015, Grant competed in his first season of wrestling and earned his first varisty letter. He had an overall record of 17-11 with one pin, four tech falls, 22 takedowns, 43 escapes, 21 reversals, and 29 total near falls. BW set a single-season school-record with 17 wins, finished 17-6 overall and 4-1 in OAC dual matches, won the 29th Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament, placed sixth at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional and 20th at the 2015 NCAA Div. III National.

As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Grant tried to compete in his second season of wrestling, but injuries hampered his season. Grant compiled a 6-3 record with one pin and two technical falls. He also had 25 takedowns, eight escapes, six reversals and 44 total near falls. BW compiled a school-record 18 victories with an 18-8 overall record, won the OAC title with a perfect 5-0 record and placed an all-time best second at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Tournament. BW also was 31st of 53 teams at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Grant Rathburn grew up in New Albany, Ohio and graduated from Columbus Bishop Hartley High School.

Grant wrestled for four years and earned four varsity letters. He ran two seasons of cross country (junior and senior) and earned two letters. He also played two seasons of football (freshman and sophomore).

Grant was a second-team All-Metro Columbus selection, a three-time OHSAA State Tournament qualifier and placed sixth at the OHSAA State Tournamentt as a senior.
