ROCHESTER, NEW YORK -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team finished eighth of nine teams today (Saturday, December 3, 2011) at the annual Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman 184-pounder Tyler Blaine (Worthington/ Kilbourne) who posted a 2-2 record to place fourth He is now 6-4 overall and is second on the team in victories.
In addition, sophomore 133-pounder Andrew Taylor (Columbus/ Worthington/Kilbourne) and freshman 149-pounder Sam McIntosh (South Euclid/Brush) each had 4-2 marks to place fifth. Taylor has a 7-4 slate and leads the team in wins.
Also for B-W, freshman 133-pounder Dylan Matz (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) had a 2-2 record, senior 133-pounder Jeremy Dombrady (Copley) had a 1-2 mark, and sophomore 285-pounder Addison Carbone (Hudson) and freshman 157-pounder Alexander Cahill (Westlake) each had 0-2 marks. For Carbone, it marked his first wrestling matches since his sophomore season in high school. He recently ended his football season as a starting defensive tackle for the 8-2 overall and 24th-ranked Yellow Jackets.
B-W will next compete when it travels to Cleveland State University to compete in the CSU Open Meet on Sunday December 18 at 9:00 a.m. The next home match is on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 against Cleveland cross-town and Ohio Athletic Conference rival John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m.
