BEREA, Ohio – Junior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference defender Hannah Stein (Medina/Highland) tied a Baldwin Wallace University school record as the women's lacrosse team lost 15-4 to five-time defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion University of Mount Union inside George Finnie Stadium.

Stein caused a career-best eight turnovers in the game, tying Maddie Russell's previous school record mark which was set back in 2014. The junior also nabbed a career-high tying six ground balls and won four draw controls.

Senior two-time All-OAC midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt) was the lone multiple scorer for the Yellow Jackets (8-6, 5-2 OAC) while senior three-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) recorded a game-high three assists.

Senior attack Ashley Bernardi netted a game-high five goals for the Purple Raiders (14-1, 7-0 OAC). Both senior midfielder Alyssa Rydell and junior attack Danielle Rohrman tallied four points – Rydell with three goals and one assist and Rohrman with a pair of goals and assists each. Junior midfielder Kenzie Pensyl also added two goals and one assist.

Rydell and the Purple Raider offense were clicking as the senior midfielder's early hat trick helped Mount Union out to a 4-0 lead in the first nine minutes of action. Albrechta connected with Patrick to get BW on the scoreboard at the 21:01 mark. Almost eight scoreless minutes passed before the Purple Raiders netted a pair of scores, which was followed by a free-position goal off the stick of junior midfielder Jordan Paugh (South Lyon, Mich.) Mount Union closed out the half by adding two unassisted goals for an 8-2 lead heading into the locker room.

Another five-plus minute scoreless stretch started the second half until the Purple Raiders kick-started the offense with three straight goals to take an 11-2 lead. Freshman midfielder Sid Chamberlin (Wooster) put a halt to scoring at the 16:28 mark; however, Mount Union went off on yet another 3-0 run to build up to a 10-goal advantage. Patrick netted BW's final goal of the night with 7:30 left on the clock while Bernardi added one last score for the 15-4 final.
