WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Sophomore guard/forward Caely Ressler (Napoleon) of the No. 7 nationally ranked women's basketball team was named Ohio Athletic Conference Midstream Lighting Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Ressler helped the Yellow Jackets to two OAC road wins last week over the University of Mount Union and Muskingum University. Against Mount Union, the Yellow Jackets were down 63-57 with 16 seconds remaining before a clutch three-pointer from Ressler put BW within one score. BW forced the turnover on the in-bounds pass, where Ressler was then able to release the last second shot from deep, sinking it, to force the game to overtime against the Purple Raiders.

Ressler totaled a career-high 23 points in that game, shooting 4-7 from beyond on the arc and was a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe in overtime to clinch the win. In the win over Muskingum, Ressler added another 17 points and nine rebounds.

On the week, Ressler averaged 20 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, shooting 61.9% (13-21) from the field and 53.8% (7-13) from three-point range. She also added three assists, three steals, and three blocks.

This season, Ressler has scored 122 points, grabbed 86 rebounds, and added 19 assists, 12 steals, eight blocks, and is third in the OAC in three-point percentage (45.2%). In Ressler's career, she has tallied 265 points (6.62 points per game), 196 rebounds, 52 assists, 25 steals, and 19 blocks.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, January 11 for an OAC contest against No. 20 nationally ranked Ohio Northern University. The top-25 matchup is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. inside the ONU Sports Center in Ada.
