BEREA, Ohio – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at one of two NCAA "Last Chance" meets.

Each student-athletes competed in order to obtain a qualifying mark to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet next week.  

At the Tufts (Mass.) Final Qualifier, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) was the runner-up in the weight throw when he hit a mark of 61 feet, 9.5 inches. Dysert also competed in the shot put where he took sixth with a toss of 48'3.25".

Several distance runners competed at the Polar Bear Last Chance Invite, hosted by Ohio Northern University inside the ONU Sports Center. Freshman David Prather (Hardin, Mont.) had the best result there for the Yellow Jackets when he ran a career-best time of 1:59.13 to finish second in the 800-meter run. Sophomore Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) also ran a career best in the 5,000-meter run when he crossed the finish line in third place in 15:57.09. In the 1-mile run, freshman Joe Juda (Strongsville) and sophomore Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in times of 4:38.17 and 4:40.41. 

The Yellow Jackets will now wait and see which athletes qualify to the 2019 NCAA Indoor National Championships, hosted Friday and Saturday, March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
