Four Men's Track and Field Student-Athletes Named Academic All-OAC

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Junior All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic), senior sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermillion), junior distance runner Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) and senior thrower Milton Woods (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) are four of the 62 Yellow Jacket student-athletes to be recognized this spring.

Achladis, who earns his second straight Academic All-OAC honor, is a middle childhood education major who carries a 3.843 GPA. Academically, he is a Dean's List student, a two-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic selection and the 2018 recipient of the BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the men's track and field team. This season, Achladis repeated as an All-OAC performer in the discus and also earned a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honor in the indoor shot put.

Cole, who also garners his second consecutive Academic All-OAC accolade, is a creative writing and communications double major who carries a 3.510 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and a UTSFCCCA All-Academic selection. This season, Cole notched a career best of 51.06 seconds in the 400-meter dash. 

Wilson, who is named to his second Academic All-OAC team, is an exercise science major who carries a 3.673 GPA. Off the track, he is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a Lifespan Student Ambassador. This season, Wilson had career bests of 9:06.08 in the indoor 3,000-meter run, 2:10.91 in the outdoor 800-meter run, 4:23.53 in the 1,500-meter run and 15:31.00 in the 5,000-meter run. 

Woods, who earns his third career Academic All-OAC honor, is a marketing and film studies double major who carries a 3.771 GPA. He is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, a member of the BW Film Society, a BW photography student assistant and the 2017 recipient of the BW Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA on the men's track and field team. This season, Woods notched career bests of 46 feet, 11 inches in the indoor shot put, 47'9.75" in the outdoor shot put, 133'7" in the discus throw, 145'0" in the hammer throw and 100'3" in the javelin throw.
