
BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams defeated Division II Malone University in a non-conference dual meet in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
The Yellow Jacket men defeated Malone by a score of 121-91.
Leading the men today was junior Jacob Burk (Bowling Green) placing first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a wall touch of 10:40.48. Burk placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:05.54 and in the 100-yard breaststroke with a career-best time of 1:06.29. Sophomore Tyler Thompson (Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 59.78. Thompson placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a wall touch of 2:06.61. Thompson was also on the 200-yard relay team consisting of freshman Alexander Morrow (Winchester,VA/Millbrook), Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South), and senior Sean Rudolph Jr. (Warrensville Heights) that finished first with a seasons best time of 1:41.59. Rudolph also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.10.
Onchuck also swam strongly for the Yellow Jackets today as he had a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a wall touch of 22.91, and a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 52.62. Freshman, Kevin Hartenstein (Hermintage, Pa./Hickory) had a career best in the 200-yard freestyle, in a time of 1:56.17.
Diving strongly today for the men's team was Da'Qeayce Swain (Dayton/David H Pointz) with a career best score of 144.70 in the 1-meter dive.
