Today's Contest: 
Today is the Ohio Athletic Conference opener and the second road contest of the season for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Westerville to take on Otterbein University.  BW opened up the 2021 fall season with a 45-24 victory over Hampden-Syndey (Va.) College.  Otterbein fell to Ohio Wesleyan University by a final score of 32-28

The Series: 
BW and Otterbein are meeting for the 53rdtime on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 38-12-1 all-time series, inlcuding winning the past two meetings.  In 2019, the Yellow Jackets posted a 45-28 home victory. The series began in 1925 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Cardinals, 7-0, in Berea. 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert: 
Hilvert is in his fifth season at BW and has a record of  22-11 and OAC slate of 18-11. He is 88-37 in his 11th overall season and is 2-1 against Otterbein. 

Otterbein Head Coach Tom Doup: 
Doup is in his eighth season at Otterbein and has a career record of 38-48 and an OAC record of  35-42.  He is 5-3 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Meeting vs. OTT -- Sept. 14, 2019:
BW scored 45 points on 198 yards rushing and 158 yards passing for 356 yards of total offense. Otterbein scored three points on 236 yards passing and 142 yards rushing for 378 yards of total offense.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week one of the season, BW scored 45 points on 208 yards passing and 169 yards rushing for a 377 yards of total offense. Hampden-Sydeney scored 24 points on 168 yards passing and 93 yards rushing for 261 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior Academic All-OAC quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) has completed 17 of 22 passes for 208 yards.  Sophomore All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) leads the ground attack with 99 yards on 21 carries with four touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps with five catches for 116 yards.  Defensively, senior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) and tops the team with 14 tackles and one quarterback sack. Junior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South  Walton) is second on the squad with eight stops and is tied with one sack.  Senior defensive back Iyan Mitchell (Tampa, Fla./Robison) leads the team with two pass breakups and is third with five tackles.

Scouting the Cardinals: 
Otterbein scored 28 points on 295 yards passing and 148 yards rushing for 443 yards of total offense.  Ohio Wesleyan scored 32 points on 183 yards rushing and 259 yards passing for 442 yards of total offense.

Otterbein Leaders: 
Offensively, senior quarterback Bryce Hall has completed 26 of 41 passes for 295 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.  Senior running back Siraj Muhammad leads the ground attack with 143 yards on 23 carries.  Senior Academic All-OAC tight end Jeb Jones leads receiving corps with 11 catches for 114 yards with two touchdowns.  Defensively, senior linebacker Jalen Perry leads the team with 10 tackles and one forced fumble.  Junior All-OAC defensive back Max Walden and senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC linebacker Greg Nolder are tied for second with nine stops.
