BALDWIN WALLACE INFORMATION:

SPORTS PLAYED AT BW (YEARS AND LETTERS WON): As a senior in 2011, Matt competed in his fourth season of football for the Yellow Jackets and earned his third varsity letter. 

ACADEMIC HONORS: Matt is a Jacket Scholar who carries a 3.67 grade point average and is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Matt was named Capital One Academic All-District  first-team in 2011 and 2012. He also was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society.  He was also named to the Academic All-OAC first team.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Matt had a solid four-year football career. B-W had a 23-17 record during his four seasons in the Brown & Gold. He earned three varsity letters, recorded 108 career tackles, including 70 solo, six and a half tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, 18 pass deflections, and six interceptions in which two of them were returned for touchdowns.

As a freshman in 2008, Matt played in his first year of football.  He saw playing time in three varsity games as a defensive back and made three tackles.

As a sophomore in 2009, Matt played in his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He saw action both in the secondary and on special teams. Matt was credited with 20 tackles (11 solo) and one tackle for loss. He also defended three passes. 

As a junior in 2010, Matt played in his third season of football and was a starting cornerback. He was awarded OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts against Otterbein on October 9.  Matt intercepted a Cardinal pass and returned it for an 88-yard TD which is the second longest in Finnie Stadium history.  It was also the second straight week in a row Matt had an interception for a touchdown. He also had a 24-yard interception return for a TD against Marietta on October 2. For the season, Matt ranks fourth on the team with 50 total tackles (33 solo). He has four tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. He leads the team and the OAC with 15 passes defended and has two interceptions. Matt was named ESPN Academic All-District IV first team and the Academic All-OAC team for his efforts in the classroom and on the field.  Matt was also an honorable mention All-OAC for his efforts on the field.

As a senior in 2011, Matt competed in his fourth season of football for the Yellow Jackets. He started at cornerback for the second straight year and earned his third varsity letter.  Matt was selected to the 2011 Academic All-OAC team for his efforts in the classroom and on the field.
