BEREA, OHIO –   The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Mid-February Meet tonight (Friday, February 8, 2013) on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. The meet consisted of 11 NCAA Division III schools, seven NCAA Division II schools and one NCAA Division I school.

While most of the Yellow Jackets' top runners, jumpers and throwers rested for tom
orrow's (Saturday, Feb. 9) annual All-Ohio Championship Meet at Otterbein University, the women finished 10th of 19 teams with 15 points.

The BW women were led by senior Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/Midview) who finished fifth in the 1000-meter in a time of 3:32.62.  Sophomore Dusica Vasic (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished eighth in the 1000-meter in a time of 3:40.37. Freshman Kali Fittro (Tiffin/Columbian) placed seventh in the 5000-meter run in a time of 19:57.47.

In the throwing events, freshman Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township) took 10th in the weight throw and in second in the shot put with throws of 40'6.75" and 39'5.75 respectively.  In addition to Gallavan in the weight throw, freshman Maggie Urban (Cleveland) finished eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 40'6.75. Freshman Savannah Moore (Burbank/Northwestern) placed 13th with a throw of 38'9.50"

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Friday, February 15 when it hosts the annual Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track at 5:00 p.m.
