BW Women Drop Home Opener to Penn State Behrend

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving teams opened the home portion of its schedule against visiting Penn State Behrend (Pa.) University in the BW Natatorium.

The Yellow Jacket women (4-2) lost to the Lions, 115-105. 
 
The women's team had five individual winners and two runner-up finishes.  BW was led by freshman, Jordyn Miller(Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and junior All-Academic OAC and All-OAC Swimmer Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon).
 
Miller finished first in two events including the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:10.91 and the 100-yard freestyle in 57:65.0. Ashbaugh finished first in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:03.55 and a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a wall touch of 2:04.94.
 
Also swimming strongly for the Yellow Jackets with first place finishes were sophomore Carly Croyle (Avon) in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 1:08.64, and senior All-OAC swimmer, Kayla Eyster in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:41.60.

The Yellow Jackets remain at home on Friday, November 21 for an OAC dual meet with the University of Mount Union at 6 p.m. BW then hosts Hiram College in a non-conference dual meet the next day on Saturday, November 22 at 1 p.m.
