Day One Results
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA- -- Baldwin-Wallace College junior All-American diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Hts./Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) was the national runner-up tonight (Thursday, March, 22, 2012) in the one-meter diving competition at the Division III National Championships. With her second place finish, Pinter earned her fifth All-American honor.
When Diving Coach Tim Croy was asked about Pinters second place finish, he replied " I'm really proud of her so far, she has worked hard and is reaping the benefits of her success and hard work"
Pinter scored 448.75 points and was just 1.85 points away from tying national champion Danica Roskos of The College of New Jersey. The 448.75 score marked Pinter's most points scored at the NCAA Division III National Meet. As a sophomore in 2011, she finished fourth with 433.15 points and was seventh with 400.55 points as a freshman in 2010.
When asked about earning her fifth All-American honor, Pinter replied" I'm really excited with my second place finish and fifth All-American status, I have set the goal to become a National Champion and I am going to work hard next year to achieve my goal."
Pinter will seek her sixth All-American honor on Saturday, March 24 when she will compete in the three-meter diving competition. The finals for the days events are slated to begin at 6:00 P.M.
