BW Women’s Soccer Team Ties at Grove City (Pa.)

GROVE City, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team tied host Grove City (Pa.) College, 1-1, today (Saturday, September 13) in nonleague match.

BW (1-4-1 overall) outshot the Wolverines, 19-17, but GCC led in corner kicks, 12-6. With its tie, GCC is 1-3-1 overall.

Grove City grabbed a 1-0 lead at 34:18 when junior forward Samantha Wild scored via an assist from junior midfielder Abby Mathes. The Wolverines also led 1-0 at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets tied the game at 1-1 at 48:57 when sophomore defender Kelly Gough (Hudson) scored her second goal of the season.  The game remained tied at the end of regulation.

In overtime, neither team could find the back of the net.

In goal for the Yellow Jackets, junior All-OAC netminder Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa./ Fairview) faced 17 shots, including 12 on goal, and made 11 saves.

The BW women are back in action this Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they travel cross-town to University Circle to play rival Case Western Reserve University at 7:30 p.m.
