#10 Wrestling Places Third at New Standard Corporation Invitational

YORK, Pennsylvania – The No.-10 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team placed third, with 100 points and six placers, at the New Standard Corporation Invitational over the weekend, hosted by York (Pa.) College.

Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference 197-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) led BW (1-1, 1-1 OAC) with a first place finish. Lehman won his first four matches with pinfalls of 1:56, 4:21, 6:22, and 6:19. He claimed his first place bout over No.-4 ranked in his respective weight class, Michael DiNardo of Johnson & Wales (R.I.), with a 2-0 decision.

Claiming a second place finish was Sophomore All-OAC and ranked No.-5 in the 149lb. weight class, Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic). He won his first round on a 5:46 pinfall and followed that with a 5-2 decision in the round of sixteen. Bleich won his quarter and semifinal matches off major decisions of 16-6 and 11-3, with his semifinal match coming against the No.-3 ranked in his respective weight class, Greg Warner of York College.

Earning a fifth place finish was Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 133-pounder Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) after winning his first two matches with a 2:27 pinfall and a 15-0 technical fall. Ginnetti then fell in his quarterfinal match to a 10-6 decision. He would then place fifth after a 6:08 pinfall.

Also, garnering a fifth place spot was Junior Academic All-OAC 141-pounder Charlie Nash Norwalk). He won his first match off an 8-3 decision, and followed that with 8-0 major decision. Nash won his quarterfinal match with a 6:12 pinfall, before falling in the semi's by an 18-3 technical fall, and went on to win his fifth place bout.

Rounding out the Yellow Jackets with six place finishes was sophomore 141-pounder Dalton Leightner (Ravenna/Rootstown) and Senior All-OAC 184-pounder Justin Ransom (Mason). Leightner won his opening match with a 16-0 technical fall and followed with a 9-3 decision, before falling in the quarterfinal match. He would lose his fifth place bout to fellow Yellow Jacket, Nash. Ransom won his inaugural match with a 6-1 decision and then a 2-1 decision in his quarterfinal match, before falling in the semi's.

The Yellow Jackets will hit the mats next on December 8, when they travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to face off against Waynesburg (Pa.) University.
