AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – After its sixth consecutive trip to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, the Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team was tabbed third in the 2020 OAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Claiming the third spot for its second season in a row, BW received 48 points amongst the other nine OAC teams. Six-time defending OAC regular season and tournament champions University of Mount Union earned the No. 1 spot in this year's preseason poll, with 64 points and eight first-place votes. Coming in at second was Capital University with 61 points and the one remaining first-place vote. Crosstown rival John Carroll University and Ohio Northern University rounded out the top-five vote getters with 46 and 31 points, respectively.

"We are excited to see us being recognized in the top half of the conference," Head Coach Nicholle Shoger began. "Our team has been putting in a lot of time this fall, winter, and preseason, and we're ready to continue the success we had from last year's season. With a majority of our starters returning this year, we have a lot of experience and chemistry on and off the field, as well as the incoming talent that our new additions will bring from our freshman class."

Shoger, who is entering her third season at the helm of the program, returns 12 letterwinners and three All-OAC players from last year's squad that went 9-7 overall and 6-2 in conference play, advancing to the OAC Tournament Semifinals.

The Yellow Jackets will begin their 2020 season with their home opener on Wednesday, February 19, as BW hosts Ohio Wesleyan University for a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m. in George Finnie Stadium.
