Nathan Onchuck Named OAC Swimmer-of-the-Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Freshman men's swimming sensation Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./ Hinsdale South) has been chosen as OAC Male Swimmer-of-the-Week.

Onchuck won two events individually and swam on a pair of winning relay teams as the Yellow Jackets defeated OAC-foe Transylvania (Ky.) University on January 4, 2013 at the Sarasota, Florida YMCA.  Onchuck won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.81 seconds and the 50-yard butterfly in 25.87 seconds and swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:53.33) and 200-yard free relay (1:39.36) teams. He was joined on the 200 medley relay squad by junior All-OAC competitor Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/ Bishop Watterson), freshman Charles Peppers (Circleville) and freshman Justin Allison (Napoleon). He was joined on the winning freestyle relay squad by Donohoe, Allison and sophomore Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/ Nordonia).

The Yellow Jackets are now idle until January 19 when they travel to Ada, Ohio to swim against OAC-rival Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center at 1:00 p.m.  The next home meet is on Saturday, January 26 against OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium inside The Lou Higgins Center at 1:00 p.m.
