Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Compete at Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS - Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field team competed at the two-day Jesse Owens Classic inside Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at The Ohio State University. The meet consisted of division one, two, three and NAIA schools. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights for day one on Friday included:

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins / Western Reserve) finished seventh in women's hammer throw with a mark of 179' 8"
  • Freshman All-OAC runner Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) came in 19th place in the men's 200-meter run with a time of 22.20
  • Junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) placed 36th in the women's 1500-meter run in a time of 4:55.77
  • Sophomore All-OAC runner Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished 22nd in the women's 200-meter dash in a time of 25.62 seconds

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights for day two included:

  • Senior All-OAC hurdler ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) finished 12th in the men's 110-meter hurdles prelims in a time of 14.58 seconds.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action when they travel to Canton on Thursday, April 27th to compete in the Walsh Tune-Up on Larry Staudt Field.
