Murphy Earns Fifth Career OAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the second time this season and for the fifth time in her illustrious career, Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named the OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Murphy earns her fifth honor after finishing first of 142 runners in a 5k time of 22:03.2 to help lead BW to a fourth-place finish at the at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational at the Liberty Park.

Murphy, the 2021 OAC Women's Cross Country of the Year, has a career-best 5k time of 18:06.9, which she ran last year at the All-Ohio Championships.  She earned her first honor this season on September 5 while her three previous accolades came last season on September 12, September 19, and October 17.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 7 when they travel to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to compete in the Dickinson University NCAA Pre-National Invitational at Big Spring High School.   The women's race us scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
