Murphy Earns Fourth Career OAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named the OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth time in her career.

Murphy earns her second fourth after finishing 26th of 189 runners in a 5k time of 18:57.23 at the season opening 54th Tommy Evans Invitational hosted by NCAA Division I University of Akron at the Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails. She was the top OAC finisher and seventh Division III runner to cross the finish line.

Murphy, the 2021 OAC Women's Cross Country of the Year, has a career-best 5k time of 18:06.9, which she ran last year at the All-Ohio Championships.  She earned all three of her previous accolades last season on September 12, September 19 and October 17.

BW is back in action on Friday, September 15 when it travels to Cedarville to compete in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
