BEREA, OHIO -- Veteran Baldwin Wallace University Head Volleyball Coach Vicki Brault announced the addition of TJ Shouse to the Yellow Jacket coaching staff for the 2013 season.
Shouse comes to BW after serving as the head volleyball coach at NCAA Division II Tiffin University from 2006-09. He also has served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Slippery Rock (Pa.) University from 2003-06.
"TJ brings a lot of knowledge from different levels of collegiate volleyball to the program," said Brault, who enters her 23nd season overall and 19th at BW with 409 career victories. " TJ will not only help me with coaching our student-athletes but since he has served as a head coach he can help me with recruiting as well as the day to day operations."
While at Tiffin, Shouse transitioned the program from NAIA to NCAA Division II and posted a mark of 46-34 in four seasons. He coached seven All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and All-Region student-athletes. Shouse coached both the 2006 NCAA All-Independent Player of the Year and the All-Independent Libero of the Year. He also has served as an assistant sports information director.
During his time at Slippery Rocky, Shouse helped coach "the Rock" to a record of 59-41 in four seasons. He also had the opportunity to work with three All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and All-Region players. Shouse served as the site manager and lead instructor for the Slippery Rock annual summer camp and was the coach for the men's club team.
In addition to coaching, Shouse has served as an official for junior olympic volleyball. He also has served as an individual instructor.
Shouse earned both a master's and a bachelor of science in English from Slippery Rock.
