BW Volleyball Team Falls to Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team fell to Ohio Northern University, 3-1, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center on Homecoming.
 
BW (8-13, 1-2 OAC), was beaten by Ohio Northern (13-7, 2-1 OAC) by scores of 17-25, 25-20, 16-25 and 20-25.
 
BW was led offensively by senior middle hitter Colleen Bonacci (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) with 14 kills. In addition, junior right side hitter Markema Winters (Akron/Firestone) added 13 kills.
 
The offense was set up by senior setter Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) with a career-high 36 assists. 
 
Defensively, freshman libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) and Deluer led the way with 29 and 24 defensive digs, respectively.
 
With her 24 digs today, Deleur, who now has 1,365 career digs, moved closer to reaching Emily Albanese who is seventh on the all-time digs list with 1,385. 
 
BW is back in action on Tuesday, October 15 when it hosts Heidelberg University in an OAC match at 7:00 p.m. in the Ursprung Gym.  Fans can watch the match via live video at http://www.bwyellowjackets.com/sports/wvball/2013-14/videos/heidelberg.
