AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) has been named the OAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the fourth time in her career.

After having to wait the entire indoor season to compete, Buckhannon made the most of her season debut at the OAC Opener meet as she helped the Yellow Jackets to a sixth-place finish overall. The senior won both events she competed in with a career-best toss of 175 feet, 9 inches in the hammer throw and a 131'0" mark in the discus throw. Buckhannon currently leads all of NCAA Division III in the hammer throw and also ranks fourth in the discus.

For her outdoor career, Buckhannon is a four-time All-OAC performer, a three-time All-Ohio performer, a two-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region honoree in the hammer throw and a national qualifier in the hammer throw.

BW continues the outdoor season on Saturday, March 27, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Alliance for a meet at the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.
