AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hastings Marek (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) has repeated as the OAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, earning the honor for the third time this season.

Marek led the way at the University of Mount Union's tri-meet, helping the Yellow Jackets to a third-place finish overall. She has continued to rack up event wins this season, this time in the 1-mile run in a career-best 4:59.60. Marek broke the 5-minute mark for the first time in her career, dropping almost four seconds from her career best that was set just a few weeks ago, and she was less than a second away from breaking a school record for the second consecutive week. Marek is now tied for the top time in all of NCAA Division III in the mile. The senior also placed third in the 500-meter dash in 1:22.22.

For her indoor career, Marek is an All-Ohio performer in the 5,000-meter run and an All-OAC performer in the distance medley relay.

Marek and the rest of the Yellow Jacket women will finish off the indoor season by competing in the OAC Championships on Friday, March 6, at Otterbein University inside the Clements Recreation Center.
