Women’s Tennis Closes Out Season, Falls to John Carroll in OAC Tournament Quarterfinals

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team closed out the 2024 season as it fell to crosstown rival John Carroll University in an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal match by a final score of 5-0 inside the Short Family Tennis Center.

In the OAC Tournament, the team that secures the first five points wins the match and all matches on the court at the time of the winning point will be deemed as unfinished.

John Carroll (10-8), who is the third seed, advances to the semifinals face second-seeded and host Ohio Northern University on Friday, May 3 on the West Campus Courts.  BW (3-13), who was the sixth seed, ends its season.

Singles

  • Yates fell at first singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Andersen did not finish at second singles with a score of 6-2
  • Koutouras did not finish at third singles with a score of 6-0
  • Trost did not finish at fourth singles with a score of 6-1
  • Brown lost at fifth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Senior Academic All-OAC Juliet Penrod (Macedonia/Nordonia) did not finish at sixth singles with a score of 6-3
