ALLIANCE, Ohio – Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) scored four goals to lead the fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team to an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament record seven goals in a 7-3 victory in an OAC quarterfinal game over the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.

BW (11-9) advances to the OAC Tournament semifinals on Thursday, November 4 when it travels to Westerville to take on top-seeded and reular season champion Otterbein University at 7 p.m. Mount Union(10-7-1) ends its season.

The first half was a high scoring period. Mount Union got the scoring started with three unanswered goals through the first 35 minutes. It was BW that controlled much of the game the first 15 minutes rifling off four shots. The Yellow Jackets were able to cut into that lead right before the half ended. Rice got a little bit of space and put in the top corner where the goalie couldn't reach to cut the deficit to 3-1.

BW came out motivated in the second half and made a statement. Rice got her second of the game just two and half minutes into the half. From there, all the momentum was in the Yellow Jackets favor. Less than 10 minutes later, Rice got the hat trick to tie things up. BW gained the lead off a corner kick from senior defender Anna Wenzinger (Columbus/Bishop Watterson). Freshman defender Kayleigh Neale (Holley, N.Y.) rose above the defense an put in the back of the net. The Yellow Jackets were not done, and Rice hit the back of the net for her fourth and made it a 5-3 lead. BW made the statement and Ella Barth (Highland/Mayfield) got in on the action to make it six unanswered on the night. Sophomore Alissa Scattino (Girard/Warren John F. Kennedy) finished off the scoring off a corner kick from sophomore defender Anna Wolfinger (Wadsworth). The Yellow Jackets kept the game in control and finished with a 7-3 victory.

In the net for BW was freshman goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) as she made three saves on the six shots she faced.
