MARIETTA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University Women's Soccer Team defeated Marietta College in their last regular season Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 2-0 on Marietta Field.

Both teams got off to a quick start, taking shots on goal within the first five minutes. BW (10-9, 5-4 OAC) worked hard to create opportunities on goal. At 22 minutes, Yellow Jacket Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) scored from outside the box to give BW the lead. The half ended 1-0.

Less than ten minutes into the second half, Academic All-OAC senior Maddie Farrell (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) received a cross from freshman forward Natalie Stewart (Blacklick/Gahanna Lincoln) and scored a second goal for the Yellow Jackets. BW's defensive line blocked all attempts by Marietta (2-12-1, 1-7-1 OAC), allowing the Yellow Jackets to claim the victory.

In the goal for the Yellow Jackets was freshman goalie Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) who had one save on the one shot she faced.

With a spot in the OAC Tournament, the Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Tuesday November 2nd for the conference quarterfinals. BW will travel to Alliance to face University of Mount Union at 7 P.M.
