Men's Wrestling Unveils 2022-23 Schedule

BEREA, Ohio – Under the direction of veteran head coach Jamie Gibbs, the defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team has rolled out its 2022-23 schedule.

BW, who has won six of the last seven OAC titles, opens the schedule in November with four invitationals and one dual match.  The Yellow Jackets begin the season at the annual Ithaca (N.Y.) University Invitational on November 4 and 5.  BW then heads to the Hoosier State to compete in the Trine (Ind.) University Invitational on November 12.  The Yellow Jackets close out the first month of action with two home events with the first OAC dual match against Heidelberg University on November 15 and the BW Invitational on November 19 and the first OAC dual match against Heidelberg University.

As the calendar flips to December, BW will host a pair of non-conference dual matches plus travel to two more invitationals.  On December 2, the Yellow Jackets will host NCAA Division II Tiffin University and NCAA Division II University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  BW closes out the 2022 portion of its schedule with the 58th North Central (Ill.) Invitational on December 10 and the Gator "Boot Duals hosted by Luther (Iowa) College in Nashville, Tennessee on December 17.

The Yellow Jackets start the 2023 section of its schedule on January 6 and 7 when they travel to Louisville, Kentucky for the annual National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals.  BW competes in its final road invitational on January 14 when it wrestles in the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester (Ind.) University.   The Yellow Jackets return to OAC action when it hosts Otterbein University on January 17.  BW closes out the month with three OAC matches against crosstown rival John Carroll University, Muskingum University and Ohio Northern University in Ada on January 21. 

The final month of the regular season begins on February 4 with the 36th John Summa Invitational.  The Yellow Jackets close out OAC action with a pair of road dual matches against Wilmington College on February 7 and the University of Mount Union on February 12.  BW will also compete in the John Carroll Open Invitational on February 12.

The NCAA Division III Central Regional Championships will be held on February 24 and 25.   The NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Ferrum (Va.) College will be contested on March 10 and 11 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
