WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse freshman midfielder Clare Alic (Carmel, Ind. / Guerin Catholic) and junior defender Carly Kern (Gibsonia, Pa. / Mars Area) have been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year to lead six BW players on the All-OAC squad.

Alic was named this year's Rookie of the Year and landed on the first team after leading BW in points, assists (24) and goals scored (54). This season, she broke the freshman record for draw controls (87) and was second overall in the OAC. Alic also became the third player in program history to score 50 goals in one season.

Alic had a single game career-high of seven goals in the OAC Tournament quarterfinal win over John Carroll University. On the season, she added 29 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. Alic also led the Yellow Jackets in shots on goal (85). She appeared and started in all 16 games throughout the regular season.

Kern, who earns her first conference accolade, was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year and landed on the first team. Kern led the Yellow Jackets in caused turnovers (23) and was tied for fourth overall in the OAC. She also collected a career-high 28 ground balls allowing BW to gain steady offensive possession throughout the season.

Junior defender Lauren Comack (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) earns her second career All-OAC honor after landing on the second team. Comack was second for BW in caused turnovers (22) and racked up 19 ground balls this season.

Senior midfielder Deanna Loukas (Tuckahoe, N.Y. / Eastchester) was awarded with her fourth conference accolade after making it to the second team. This season, Loukas became the women's lacrosse all-time scoring leader with 156 career goals. She was second on the team this season in goals scored (46), third in assists (13), third in caused turnovers (13), and second in draw controls (62). Loukas is also the all-time leader in shots on goal with 291 in her career.

Earning honorable mention honors this year are sophomore attack Carley House (Hilliard / Darby) and junior midfielder Rennick Mellon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban).

House earns her first All-OAC award after playing in 15 regular season games for the Yellow Jackets. She was second in team assists with 19 and was tied for fifth with a career-high 20 goals scored. House had a shot on goal percentage of 75.5% and picked up six ground balls while causing six turnovers for BW.

Mellon receives her first conference award after totaling a career-high 20 goals this season (tied for fifth). She was fourth in team draw controls (32) and fourth in shot on goal percentage (77.8%). Mellon notched 14 ground balls for BW and caused five turnovers in the process. She played in all 16 games this season.

The fourth-seeded Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, May 1 for the OAC Tournament Semifinals in a road contest against top-seeded Capital University inside of Bernlohr Stadium.
