Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Ohio Northern

Ada, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team fell to Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a final score of 15-7.  

The Yellow Jackets (2-11, 2-11 OAC) were led by senior midfielder Maddie Ray (Cuyahoga Falls/Richfield Revere) and freshman midfielder Deanna Loukas (Tuckahoe, New York/Eastchester) with three goals each.  

Ohio Northern (7-9, 7-9 OAC) was led by Annie McArn with five goals and Emma Perry with four goals. 

ONU started the game off with a 2-0 streak, which ended when Ray scored at the 27:14 mark. After back-and-forth control between the teams, ONU found their third goal at 21:18. Loukas found the back of the net for BW's second goal at the 18:18 mark in which ONU quickly responded with a 2-0 streak. BW tied up the score with a 3-0 streak from Loukas, Ray and freshman defender Avri DeBevoise (Avon Lake/Avon Lake). The half ended 5-5.  

The second half started off when ONU scored less than two minutes in and then continued on a 7-0 scoring streak. The streak was ended when Ray scored with 10:12 remaining. ONU continued with a 3-0 scoring streak, ended when Loukas scored a seventh goal for BW to end the half. 

In the cage, senior All-OAC goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Towawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) had seven saves on the 31 shots that she faced.

BW will be back in action Saturday, April 24th when they face Capital University in an OAC matchup at 1:00 p.m. on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
