Women’s Golf Finishes Season with Eighth Place at OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union at the River Greens Golf Course.

BW was eighth of nine teams with a four-round and three-day total of 1,535 strokes on the par 72 and 5,864 yard River Greens layout.  Ohio Northern University was the champion with 1,269 strokes

  • Sophomore Alana Smith (Fremont/Ross) finished tied for 14th as she fired rounds of career-low 79, 83, 90 and 87 for a four-round total of 339
  • Senior Chloe Thomas (Norwalk) carded rounds of 104, 103, 104 and 99 for a four-day total of 410
  • Sophomore Marissa Moriconi (Magnolia/Sandy Valley) posted rounds of 104, 109, 104 and 101  for a four-round total of 418
  • Junior Halle Kalaman (Tallmadge/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary), who did not compete in the first two rounds, finished with rounds of 126 and 107 for a total of 233
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Brooke Newsome (Clyde), who had to withdraw from the final round as she was leaving for her study abroad trip, shot rounds of 89, 83 and 89.
