No.25 BW Golfers Win the Cardinal-Crusader Invite

CANAL WINCHESTER, OHIO-- The two-time defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion and 25th-ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team placed first of seven teams today at the two-day and 36-hole Cardinal-Crusader Invitational co-hosted by Otterbein University and Capital University.  This was the third of five fall tournaments for the BW women.

Today, BW totaled 323 strokes on the par-72 and 6320-yard Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester.  Combined with BW's 325 strokes during the first round, which was played on the par-72 and 5,551-yard New Albany Links layout, the Yellow Jackets totalled 648 strokes.

The Yellow Jacket women were led by senior CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) shot a 78 today and a 83 yesterday for a two day total of 161. Today's score of a 78 was a career best for Hamilton. Hamilton was followed by junior 2-time All-OAC player Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/ Dayton Christian) who carded an 80 today and 81 yesterday for a two day total of 161, senior 2-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC player Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) was next with an 83 today and an 79 yesterday for a two day total of 162, junior two-time All-OAC standout and Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) followed with a 82 today and a 82 yesterday for a two day total of 164, and junior 2-time All-OAC player Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) rounded it off for BW who fired a 90 today and a 91 yesterday for a two day total of 181.

In addition and playing as an individual were freshman Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) who carded a 95 today and a 94 yesterday for a two day total of 189 and senior Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls / Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) shot a 103 today and yesterday shot 110 for a two day total of 213.

Cunningham, Hamilton, and Kapusta were all selected for the all-tournament team.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7 when they travel to Wooster to play Wooster Invitational at the Wooster Country Club. BW ends its fall season on Oct. 13-14 at the Annual Wittenberg University "Clash at the Clouse" Tournament in Springfield.
