Camarati Garners Eighth Career OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the first time this season and the eighth time in her illustrious career, Baldwin Wallace University junior right handed softball pitcher Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Camarati garners her weekly honor after posting a record of 2-1 with a save and 35 strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched.  She opened the week by throwing a complete game no-hitter with a career-high 18 strikeouts and just one walk in a 3-0 victory over Wilmington College.  Camarati earned her second win of the week as she pitched two scoreless innings of relief in a 6-4 come from behind victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.  She closed the week out by pitching 1.1 innings of relief for her sixth career save in a 6-3 win over Muskingum University.

This season, Camarati has three wins and a save with a 3.28 earned run average in 47 innings pitched.  She leads the OAC and is tied for 13th in NCAA Division III with 95 strikeouts.

For her career, Camarati has appeared in 73 games with 58 starts in 370.1 innings pitched. She is the school's all-time strikeouts leader with 545 and ranks third on the school's all-time wins list with 38.  Camarati ranks seventh in school history with 41 complete games.  She also holds the school record for wins in a season with 20 victories.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 6 when it travels to Grove City, Pennsylvania for a non-conference twinbill against Grove City College on the College Softball Field at 3:30 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets returns home to the friendly confines of the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 9 for an OAC doubleheader against Capital University at 1 p.m.
