Kim Earns Second MCVL Defensive Player of the Week Honor This Season, Third of Career

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball sophomore libero Aiden Kim (Bothell, Wash./North Creek) has been named the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in his career and for the second time this season.

Kim, the MCVL Defensive Player of the Week on January 22, led the Yellow Jacket defense over Geneva (Pa.) College and No. 17 nationally ranked Benedictine (Ill.) University at the Baldwin Wallace Tri-Match this past weekend to help the men's volleyball squad improve to a 5-1 record.

In BW's three-set sweep over Geneva, Kim posted a match-high 19 digs. He then added seven more digs and four assists as the Yellow Jackets took down Benedictine by a score of 3-1 giving Kim an average of 13 digs per match and 3.71 digs per set on the weekend.

In his career, Kim has tallied 311 digs, 60 assists, and averages 2.63 digs per set over 34 matches and 118 sets.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10 as they travel to Geneva, N.Y. for the Statemen Volleyball Classic hosted by Hobart (N.Y.) College. BW will take on Hobart in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday will face No. 15 nationally ranked Misericordia (Pa.) University at 11 a.m. and No. 1 nationally ranked Wentworth (Mass.) Institute of Technology at 1 p.m. inside Bristol Gymnasium.
