Pfeiffer, Young, and Others Earn All-OAC Honors; Men's Outdoor Track and Field Places Fifth After Day Two of OAC Championships

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team finished in fifth place after the second and final day of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Heidelberg University.

BW was fifth of 10 teams with 75 points. University of Mount Union won the meet with 201 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included: 

  • Senior All-OAC distance runner Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) earned his fourth career All-OAC honors after placing third in the 1500-meter run in a time of 3:51.48.
  • Sophomore All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished fourth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 3:52.07.
  • Freshman All-OAC distance runner Dillon Hach (Medina) placed seventh in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:54.85.

Field events highlighted:

  • Junior All-American Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) broke his own BW outdoor record in the high jump, tying at first place with a mark of 2.12 meters. Pfeiffer earned his fourth career All-OAC honors and is tied for No. 1 in the nation.
  • Junior Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 15.52 meters.
  • Junior Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 15.15 meters.
  • Junior All-OAC thrower Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) finished seventh in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.24 meters.

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 relay crew, Stanley, sophomore Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding), freshman Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), and junior Nick Young (Wadsworth) earned outdoor All-OAC honors after finishing third in a time of 3:16.59.

BW is back in action on Thursday, May 9 as it hosts the Harrison Dillard Twilight (Throws Only) at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Throws Facility.
