BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team has announced their team awards for the 2023 season. Five players have been honored with awards. 

Senior forward Michael Tusick (Strongsville) was selected as the team MVP. He appeared in 18 games this season and made 15 starts. Tusick was second on the team with a career-high five goals, and he was also second on the team with 10 points. He earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Julian Kieres (Lakewood) is the Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in his career. Kieres was selected to the All-OAC third team this year. He led the team with a career-high eight goals, and he also led the team with 17 points. In addition, Kieres scored two game-winning goals this past season. He earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Cipriano (Massillon / Jackson) was named as the Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He appeared in and started all 18 games this season. He led the team with 65 saves and three shutouts. Cipriano earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Freshman defender Ben Mihalek (Hudson) was selected as the Co-Defensive Player of the Year and the Rookie of the Year. He appeared in and started 16 games. Mihalek was tied for fourth on the team with two goals, and he tallied four points. He earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Sophomore defender Nordean Ali (Westlake / St. Edward) was named the BW "Jonesey" Player's Player. This award indicates outstanding leadership both on and off the field, and Ali has made a significant impact to the men's soccer program through his leadership initiatives. He earned his second varsity letter this fall.
