BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell to Wilmington College in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 2-1 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

BW (6-10-2, 0-6-1 OAC) opened the game with a lot of chances. Sophomore midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) had some great chances on goal earlier including a shot off the crossbar. However, it was junior Academic All-OAC defender Zach Hoover (Chagrin Falls) who opened up the scoring after a heading in a corner kick from freshman midfielder Mason Morris (Lewis Center/Olentangy Berlin). Wilmington (11-1-3, 4-1-2 OAC) started to get their offense going getting the next three shots, which was finished with a goal from sophomore midfielder Ryan Forino. Both teams continued to get looks and opportunities but neither team put the ball in the back of the net and the teams went into the half tied 1-1.

The Quakers opened up the half finding some early shots but were not able to do anything with it. Just over 10 minutes into the half, the Yellow Jackets came back firing and nearly got the lead, when Kieres hit one off the post. The teams continued to battle throughout the half, but it was Wilmington that gained a late advantage. In the 85th minute, sophomore defender Brady Shapiro got one into he back of the net to give the Quakers a 2-1 lead and ultimately the victory.

In the net for BW was freshman goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) who made six saves on the eight shots he faced.
