Vandendriessche Named All-Great Lakes Region

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer standout forward Carlin Vandendriessche (Medina/ Senior) has been named as a second-team Division III All-Great Lakes Region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Vandendriessche was a key reason why the Yellow Jackets set a school-record with 16 victories and advanced to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Tournament this fall. During his career, he helped B-W to win 53 matches and compile a 53-25-6 record.

Individually, Vandendriessche had a record-setting season and career. He earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors four times, including being named to the first-team twice (2009 and 2011), was an Academic All-Ohio selection (2010), a three-time OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week (twice this season) and a two-time B-W Most Valuable Offensive Player.

This season, Vandendriessche played in a single-season school-record 22 matches, took 75 shots, including a school-record 42 shots on-goal, led the team and OAC in goals with 16 and points with 37 and had a team-best seven game-winning goals.

In terms of records, Vandendriessche is the Yellow Jacket career leader in matches played (84), shots taken (250), shots on-goal (134), goals scored (46) and career points (102). He holds single-season records for matches played (22 in both 2010 and 2011), shots taken (76 in 2010), shots on-goal (42 in 2011), goals scored (16 in 2011) and points scored (37 in 2011).

"Carlin had an outstanding season and career," said 10-year veteran Yellow Jacket Head Coach Reid Ayers. "He was one of the best offensive players in the OAC, Great Lakes Region and in Division III.  He was an impact player for us for four seasons.

"Carlin was a difference-maker with exceptional skills," continued Ayers. "He definitely knew how to put the ball in the net.  We are pleased for Carlin and his family as he is quite deserving of each honor that he receives."
