BW Men Finish Seventh at Muskingum Golf Tourney

ZANESVILLE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished in seventh place at the annual Muskingum University Spring Invitational Tournament today (Friday, April 5, 2013) at the par-70 and 6,508-yard Eagle Sticks Golf Club.

The Yellow Jackets carded a second day season-low total of 304 strokes, and when added to their first day total of 317 strokes equalled a 621 total strokes to place seventh of 10 total teams.  Denison University was the team champion with a 596 score.

Individually, junior Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) shot a career-low 71 to lead the team today and had a two-day and 36-hole total of 157 strokes. He was followed by sophomore Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) with a season-low round of 75. He had a two-day total of 155 strokes. Sophomore Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview), last week's Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, had a 77 today for a two-day and team-leading score of 151 strokes. Junior Chris Nader (Westlake) was next with an 81 for a 36-hole total of 158 strokes. Sophomore Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had an 88 today for a 36-hole total of 175 strokes.

BW returns to action next week when it travels to Sunbury, Ohio to compete in the 2013 OAC Spring Invitational Tournament at the Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club.
